Founded in 2001, at present the Life Science and Technology College owns the four undergraduate course majors of biotech, bio-engineering, food science and engineering, and ecology, one national key field observation experimental station, one doctor spot ( ecology), 3 master spots ( ecology, forest tree inheritance and breeding, the protection and utilization of wild animals and plants), 5 teaching and research sections, and 5 institutes, with over 500 graduate students for doctor degrees/master degrees and undergraduate students.
The college owns 35 professors/deputy professors, 6 tutors for doctors, and 20 tutors for masters. The college has successively undertaken a number of items of scientific research tasks at national, provincial, or ministry level, of which over 80 items have gained the science and technology achievement awards at national, provincial, or ministry level. The college has been laying stress on international intercommunion and cooperation, and keeps close academic intercommunion and cooperation relationships with a total of over 20 countries as USA, Japan, Australia, France, etc, assigning a lot of teachers abroad for further study, degrees or cooperative research.
