The Electron & Information Engineering College owns 2 teaching and research sections,1 experimental department,1 institute of electronic information engineering, and 1 data office at present. The college owns 36 staff members on duty, of whom there are 15 professors/deputy professors, 11 members with medium-level professional titles, 6 members with doctor degrees, and 18 members with master degrees, and owns more than 1200 undergraduate students and 17 graduate students.
   At present, the college owns the master training spots for the directions of testing technology & automation devices and computer applied technology, and the two undergraduate course majors of electronic information engineering, and computer science and technology.
   The college has been laying stress on scientific research, actively supporting and carefully organizing all the teachers and scientific research members of the college to declare scientific research tasks, and practically enforcing its project management. Since its foundation, the college has undertaken 12 items of scientific research tasks, of which the national key projects, key projects at provincial or ministry level and projects of the South Central Forestry College such as the tasks of National Natural Science Funds, National 863 Plan and 948 Plan, Excellent Homecoming Member Funds under the State Education Ministry, etc are more than 20 in total. It published over 100 theses in academic journals and academic conferences home an abroad, quite a few of which were embodied in SCI, EI, and ISTP, officially published approx. 10 monographs, translation works, and textbooks, and obtained a great number of important scientific research and application achievements, many of which gained awards. The students trained in this college are of very strong exploring capabilities and practical operating capabilities, gaining a national second prize, a provincial first prize, and 4 provincial third prizes in the national and provincial electronics competitions and the Challenge Cup science and technology innovation competitions. And in the meantime, the college has achieved a key breakthrough in its science and technology achievements being converted into industrialization: A batch of scientific research achievements have been or are being converted into products for entry to domestic market.
   The college has fostered extensive academic exchange and cooperation relationships with colleges and universities abroad as the University of the Ryukyus of Japan，research units, and information technology companies. Every year, the college invites renowned experts and scholars home and abroad to give lectures and, in the meantime, designedly assigns teachers to go abroad for visiting, participating in international academic conferences, further studying, studying for degrees, etc, and actively carries on such intercommunion activities as academic exchanging, scholar mutual-visiting, jointly training, jointly school-running, etc. Through the intercommunion and cooperation, we have created the dense academic atmosphere in the college, making our teachers and students timely get known of the front dynamics of the teaching and scientific developments of relevant subjects home and abroad to broaden their thoughts and horizons, and promoting the continuous improving of the college’s teaching and scientific research level and the integral developing of the college’s subject construction.

Holding the school regulation of "Union, Strive, Factuality, and Innovation", the Electron & Information Engineering College, with a brandnew look, exerts its comprehensive advantage of multi-subjects by grasping opportunities, and actively boosts the development of rising and cross subjects with emphases, trying to form a subject educational system of the South Central Forestry College on an appropriate scale and with distinguishing features through the construction of “ The Tenth Five-year Plan” so as to make the Electron & Information Engineering College become the teaching and scientific research base for the knowledge innovation and the training of innovative talents at high level in the electron and information technology field of our province.
